Young Designers Competition
Sangue Novo – Young Designers Competition is a platform showcasing the ideas and works of young fashion designers, including finalists of the fashion courses in Portuguese and international schools, with an important reach in Europe. Its genesis is the creativity and the exploration of new concepts and new directions for Fashion. Sangue Novo final result is a Fashion Show integrated in the official calendar of Lisbon Fashion Week, presenting the work of the finalists to press and to the public.
The competition is annual with two selection phases. The applications run between May and June of each year. In a first phase, the jury selects 10 projects to be presented at the Sangue Novo fashion show at ModaLisboa – Lisboa Fashion Week, in October.
At the October presentation, the jury elects 5 finalist designers to present a new collection at the Sangue Novo show, in March of the following year. Each finalist receives a monetary prize of 1000 euros for the development of the new collection.
In March, the jury elects the winners of ModaLisboa Awards in partnership with Polimoda and Tintex. The Feeting Room Award is awarded in both phases of the competition.
ModaLisboa Award in partnership with Polimoda: Master in Fashion Design, or Master in Collection Design, lasting 9 months, worth 28,000 euros, at Polimoda Instituto Internazionale Fashion Design & Marketing, in Florence + 3500 euros.

ModaLisboa Award in partnership with TintexTextiles: 3-week residency at Tintex Textiles (Portuguese company specializing in sustainable jerseys) and development of a capsule collection for presentation at international trade fairs + 2000 euros.
