UNITED FASHION LISBOA. FASHION DOESN'T KNOW BORDERS

15 European Fashion Designers. Happenings, workshops, an international showroom, and networking. Knowledge, sharing, exchange, growth. From March 4 to 6th, UNITED FASHION LISBOA houses the voice of the future.

In 2017, a group of seven European Fashion organizations came together to create a project that defended, promoted and developed independent Fashion in Europe. In an unprecedented action and co-financed by the European Union's Creative Europe program, UNITED FASHION was born. MAD - Home of Creators, Fashion Council Germany, Flanders DC, Baltic Fashion Federation, Maisons de Mode, Fashion Weekend Skopje and Associação ModaLisboa pledged to boost the industry, establish connections, build bridges and eliminate borders.

ModaLisboa has already taken Gonçalo Peixoto and Patrick de Pádua to Berlin, Cristina Real to Skopje, Duarte and Imauve to Riga, Constança Entrudo to Lille and Olga Noronha and AWAYTOMARS to Antwerp for events ranging from showrooms to specialized fairs, pop-up stores, conferences, educational meetings and pitches.

Fast forward to March 2020. UNITED FASHION LISBOA, integrated in Lisboa Fashion Week, will bring to Lisbon, from March 4 to 6, at Mercado de Santa Clara and Paços do Concelho, 15 European fashion designers for a program that focuses on Production and that will tell us about the materialization of the future. Committed on bringing this group of young talents closer to the know-how and luxury specialization of the Portuguese textile industry, UNITED FASHION LISBOA will be the home of masterclasses and training actions that focus on innovation, new business models, technology, sustainability and ethics at all stages of the process. The search for new solutions is constant and is also the fuel that feed the fashion system.

The creation of an environment of proximity between these fashion designers and the Portuguese industry is crucial for a collaborative future. But it is also crucial for the future to continue to bring to Lisbon closer to the world, and UNITED FASHION LISBOA, with its showroom, will be the meeting point between international fashion designers, buyers and press, as well as a melting pot of new opportunities. All this will culminate in a presentation open to the public, open to the city, so that the sharing of voices, visions and experiences can achieve its purest purpose.

Over this three years, UNITED FASHION has benefited 150 brands, projects and fashion designers. Thinking about the future by strengthening the present is the basis of this international project that materialized in a stronger, more cohesive and more innovative European independent fashion industry, with more business opportunities, more sharing of strategic tools and with more objectives accomplished without ever, ever limiting creativity.

ModaLisboa welcomes its European partners in a program in dialogue with Lisboa Fashion Week, for an event that tells us the story of the power of a world that walks together.
