"There's no planet B" is the alert that the online platform TERRAMOTTO does during MODALISBOA INSIGHT. The message is a wake-up call to the fashion system that faces new forms of consumption and environmental concerns. During the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th of March, TERRAMOTTO and Humana Portugal will have a recycling container in the Pavilhão Carlos Lopes. They invite the public of fashion week to donate clothes and shoes that they no longer use. "There's no planet B" will be written in the container that also has the intervention of street artist FIUMANI, showing that fashion can create a positive social and environmental change. The contents of this collection will be delivered to Humana Portugal, which will be in charge of sending the clothes, according to their state of conservation, to recycling facilities, second-hand stores and to Africa, where it has development cooperation programs.
TERRAMOTTO is an online project on fashion and sustainability, which is the result of an individual initiative that collaborates with fashion and design professionals.
Humana Portugal is a non-profit association that since 1998 has been working to protect the environment through textile reuse.
