As indicated by the Directorate-General of Health of Portugal, MODALISBOA COMUNIDADE will postpone its edition and will broadcast the presentations of the Portuguese designers from April 15 to 18, 2021.
Considering the current pandemic situation and the extension of the State of Emergency, decreed by the government, which covers the initial filming and transmission dates (from March 10 to 14), Associação ModaLisboa will follow the postponement instructions of the national and local public health entities. These new dates, announced today, may change if the risk of COVID-19 spread remains high. There is, currently, a responsibility to protect the several teams that compose Lisboa Fashion Week, so ModaLisboa assumes its role in encouraging the mandatory lockdown, in solidarity with the reality of all Portuguese.
With this postponement commitment, ModaLisboa wants to ensure the individual and collective safety of all those involved in the Fashion Week, as well as continuing to ensure the communication of all the Designers who have worked hard on the collections to be presented.
Therefore, from April 15th to 18th, MODALISBOA COMUNIDADE will remain as an entirely digital Fashion Week, and will broadcast its entire program of shows, talks, and various other contents about the Portuguese Fashion industry, designed for its audience that, season after season, supports Fashion, Art and Culture. An audience that is now more important than ever.
ModaLisboa thanks the collaboration of all its teams during this process, and also thanks the Directorate-General of Health for the availability and diligence shown. Although this is the first time that ModaLisboa misses the international presentation calendar, and that the Organization has endeavored to promote risk mitigation measures, civic duty is, at this moment, essential.
Respecting all safety regulations, reinforcing, and redoubling them as needed has always been the only way to establish Lisboa Fashion Week which, being an event co-organized by Lisbon City Council and Associação ModaLisboa, has the obligation to abide by the highest standards of the Community.
MODALISBOA COMUNIDADE. Together, we will carry on.
