Fast Talks, Designer Talks, Workshops and Story Sessions. From April 15 to 18, 2021, at ModaLisboa.pt and at all Lisboa Fashion Week digital platforms, we keep the core: conversations with specialists, designers, industry players, all of those who make this sector and who continue to have a lot to teach, to share, to instill change. And beyond that, we innovate. Part of MODALISBOA COMUNIDADE, the FAST TALKS program, entirely digital, receives, this season, workshops for industry professionals, students and enthusiasts, only accessible by registration, and encompasses also the Story Sessions, in which several change makers will open a window to the future, making a state of the art of innovation. This is a #Comunidade that has all the voices in it.
It all starts with #FASTTALK&BEYOND, that brings together an international group of experts in a conversation that inspires through concrete actions aimed to improve tomorrow. Talking about concrete actions, our #INDUSTRYTALK puts on the same table (digital, of course) icons and innovators from our textile industry and Fashion Designers, in an open and unfiltered sharing about challenges and solutions for Fashion in Portugal – and beyond. Fashion, increasingly rich in visions, is also the focus of BETCLIC: Are you a fashion player?, a conference on communication, branding and the dexterity of thought that led major brands to look at Fashion as an opportunity and thought. Finally, MODALISBOA COMUNIDADE brings back the #DESIGNERTALKS: three conversations moderated by those who master words and that will cover the ModaLisboa Designers’ careers – from Sangue Novo to consolidated brands, in the process of internationalization.
Ricardo Preto and Cláudia Ribeiro — WRP International — share their experience in work methodology, strategy, collections’ creation and lifestyle merchandising, understanding of niche markets and sustainability. Alex Albini and Stefano Sacchi, from Sustainable Brand Platform, demystify the commercial flow, from merchandising to distribution, focusing on sustainability at all points of the value chain of an emerging fashion brand. Two practical and structural Workshops for young Designers, startups and Fashion students, with required registration (the form is available here), that will happen via Zoom platform, to guarantee there is room for interaction, questions and construction of thought together.
Pitches, testimonies and interviews. These are the stories of our #Comunidade, told in the first person. With themes such as Inspiration, Fashion System, Fashion Business, Communication, and Social and Environmental Responsibility, MODALISBOA COMUNIDADE opens to the world. There will be five #STORYSESSIONS that will have within them projects such as: the promotion and support of black talent and artists in different sectors of the creative industries; testimonies about the textile waste crisis in Ghana; statements regarding the promotion of mental health at work with; or conversations about working with communities of artisans in Brazil. There is also room for objective speeches about innovation, communication, digital trends, Fashion Design, or creativity. In an edition of Lisboa Fashion Week without a live audience, these direct speech sessions will bring the #Comunidade to the program, for a portrait of Fashion today – and a portrait of Fashion tomorrow.
