The Sangue Novo contest was always about questions. How does the new generation of Designers interpret the world? What do we have to teach them? What are they teaching us? Is this the design of tomorrow? Is this the solution?
The answers will be here. As these are the ten designers selected for the first phase of the contest.
For the development of their collections, the ten young designers had the support of three big players in the textile industry – Tintex Textiles, Calvelex/Fabrics4Fashion and Riopele, in a partnership with ModaLisboa – and they have been given mentoring from the panel of judges, since July 30.
Miguel Flor (President), Constança Entrudo (Designer) and Nelly Gonçalves (Stylist) will be joined by Massimiliano Giornetti (Polimoda director) and Federico Poletti (MANINTOWN editor-in-chief) to announce, on October 7th, at 6pm, at the Estufa Fria precinct, the five finalists of yet another Sangue Novo contest. It is also on this day that the winner of the ModaLisboa Award in partnership with MOCHE, elected by the public through voting on the ModaLisboa app, will be revealed.
Each designer selected by the judges will receive a support of one thousand euros to create a new collection, that should have between seven and nine looks, to be presented in March 2022. And only then will the big winners of this Sangue Novo Edition be known.
