FASHION ONLY EXISTS IN FREEDOM

-  ModaLisboa,  ModaLisboa Collective

FASHION ONLY EXISTS IN FREEDOM

MODALISBOA continues to bet on an open, free, comprehensive event. In co-organization with the Lisbon City Council, we have a duty to give back to the city what it gives us every day - and it gives us so much. Our return is to bet strongly on actions open to the public.

COLLECTIVE marks the desire to never stop innovating and growing. Opening spaces, such as the Antigas Oficinas Gerais de Fardamento e Equipamento do Exército; to honor icons, with a fashion show in the National Pantheon and free admission to the Military Museum of Lisbon and its Sala dos Gessos; to broaden the schedule of WORKSTATION and create, for the first time, one for WONDER ROOM, to have even more exhibitions. With CHECK POINT, which includes FAST TALKS, we extend the dialogue for sustainability and the future so that we move forward with awareness, ethics, meaning and feeling. Our platforms grow from edition to edition and reach more audiences, gather more voices and add more visions.

On the 11th, at 7.30 pm, we will celebrate the 53rd edition of MODALISBOA at a special moment promoted by APICCAPS, with DJ set by Fred, from the Black Ear, in the Jardim das Laranjeiras, in Antigas Oficinas Gerais de Fardamento e Equipamento do Exército. On Sunday at 3 pm, Carolina Machado presents her collection in the Pantheon, in a unique event and of course also open to the public. We extend the invitation to the city to join us in this creative hub that never accommodates.

Fashion is future. And the future is collective.

WORKSTATION FASHION DESIGNERS

WORKSTATION PHOTOGRAPHERS AND ILLUSTRATORS
OCTOBER 12 AND 13
2PM – 10PM - ANTIGAS OFICINAS GERAIS DE FARDAMENTO E EQUIPAMENTO DO EXÉRCITO

WORKSTATION is a multidisciplinary platform that does not confine fashion within four walls and makes room for experimentation. The boundaries are tested, pushed, destroyed. At COLLECTIVE, the number of fashion designers increases to six and builds a single, non-conformist force that becomes the best way to start another ModaLisboa. With an intervention at Palácio Sinel de Cordes, where an exhibition of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale is already taking place, each creator chooses a way to present his collection that does not fit the classic mold of a fashion show. The photographers remain three, the illustrators also: two triptychs of utterly distinct voices that will have their views of these four days of event on display. No standards, prescriptions or orders.

Meet all the invited authors for this platform here.

FASHION & POSITIVE IMPACT
What can be the positive impact of the fashion industry? We try to understand how this sector can be responsible for a change of behaviors and attitudes that accompany the urgent environmental, social and ethical needs of the planet, avoiding its exhaustion and the increase of problems.

We invite designers, researchers and activists to join in this discussion. All of them, through their projects, try to build a better world and set an example for us to do so as well.
