The countdown to MODALISBOA COLLECTIVE has started. COLLECTIVE is the belief of union. It is plurality in a word. It is the desire to never stop innovating and growing.
4 days in 5 spaces, one of them open for the first time to Lisbon. In the end, the result is 1. An event. A fashion week in which boundaries and barriers are broken and the way of thinking and presenting fashion is reinvented.
There are fashion shows in classic format, but there are also presentations, happenings and performances that expand creativity and commit to showcasing the spring / summer 2020 collections of national designers. Today we start at the Palácio Sinel de Cordes Palace, with the fashion happenings of the Workstation designers - António Castro, Archie Dickens, Cristina Real, Federico Protto, Opiar and Rita Afonso - between 17h00 and 18h00. From 18h00, Fast Talks will be held at Mercado deSanta Clara, in this edition dedicated to the theme Fashion & Positive Impact. We invite Alfredo Oróbio, Carolina Alvarez-Ossorio, Eva Geraldine Fontanelli and Patrick Duffy to join this discussion, moderated by Joana Barrios.
Tomorrow we move to Antigas Oficinas Gerais de Fardamento e Equipamento do Exército. We’ll start with Sangue Novo contest and the presentation of the collections of young designers Inês Manuel Baptista, Feliciano, Beatriz Julião, Filipe Cerejo, Cêlá (by Naomi Marcela), Ferencz Borbala, André Santos, Francisco Pereira, Louis Appelmans and Flávia Brito. After evaluating the works developed by the designers, the jury, composed by Miguel Flor (president of the jury and creative director of Prinçipal magazine), Lidija Kolovrat (fashion designer), Veronique Branquinho (fashion designer), Adriano Batista (magazine director-Fucking Young!) and Danilo Venturi (director of Polimoda) will elect the 6 finalist designers who will enter the second phase of the contest and will present a new collection in March 2020.
In addition to the fashion shows of our designers, ModaLisboa continues to bet strongly on events open to the public, such as Check Point, a space for dialogue that aims to foster knowledge sharing, innovation and the promotion of best practices in the national fashion industry. This edition will offer a wide range of activities in the field of know-how, sustainability, new trends and technology. The Workstation exhibition, where the photographers Matilde Cunha, Miguel Santos and Nuno Montoito and the illustrators Catarina Guedes, Mafalda Fialho and Rita Lima will exhibit their views of these 4 days of MODALISBOA COLLECTIVE. No standards, prescriptions or orders.
Wonder Room is also open to the public, ModaLisboa's pop-up store, which in this edition brings together a collective of brands in the field of jewelery, manufacturing, footwear, clothing and lifestyle and three young designers of the Workstation platform. For the first time, Wonder Room will have its own schedule, giving audiences the opportunity to learn live about how some of the products are made and to learn more about the stories behind these emerging names.
Exhibitions at ModaLisboa also continue to grow and surpass each other, from edition to edition, adding knowledge and value to our construction of the fashion universe. At COLLECTIVE we present: “Portuguese Shoes” by APICCAPS exhibition, dedicated to accessories and national footwear; ModaPortugal Showcase, an initiative of CENIT - Textile Intelligence Center in partnership with ANIVEC / APIV; Stoners| Slices of Infinity by Colision Studios x Assimagra - promoted by Clusters Mineral Resources, which unites Fashion with traditional Portuguese marble stone; the presentation of a dress created by Dino Alves, inspired by the work of Keith Haring; “Uma Ode to Olga Noronha”, with pieces from the ODE serie; and free admission to the Military Museum of Lisbon and the Sala dos Gessos.
At ModaLisboa Resort, in Jardim das Laranjeiras, the street food classics that work as authentic fuel of the edition return: Piadinas Zanotta, Cervejaria de Rua, Veggie Lovers, Madame Gaufre, Quiosque Bogani and Licor Beirão van.
ModaLisboa is bigger, broader and more open. It is today a collective of ideas, visions and opinions that come together with a common goal: to do everything for a more sustainable industry and a better world. We created a more complete event so we can hear more voices and think together.
Welcome to MODALISBOA COLLECTIVE. Fashion is future. And the future is collective
