From an early age, Carolina Machado's (Leiria, 1994) taste for fashion, art and design defines her academic career. Carolina started her training in Visual Arts in 2009 and in 2012 she moved to Oporto to study Fashion Design at ESAD, in Matosinhos, graduating in June 2015.
In October of 2015, she presented her collection at the Sangue Novo – ModaLisboa’s Yound Designers Competition and In 2016 she launched her womenswear brand, where she currently works. In October 2017, she integrated the ModaLisboa’s LAB platform.
Cuba in the 50s is the starting point for "trópico". A rhythmic and caliente summertime that brings a bitter sweetness of nostalgia, in a sepia summer style that always leaves us longing.
A flowy collection with various details: bell sleeves, frills, asymmetrical cuts, draping and where the vivacity of the terracotta tones is complemented by the tropical prints.
The painting “kiss me” by inès longevial, where the artist explores the female silhouette through techniques of distortion and fragmentation, inspires the colour palette.
