Saskia Lenaerts holds a Master degree in fashion menswear from Central Saint Martins, Winner of The Considered Design award sponsored by Johnstons of Elgin and L’Oreal Professionnel scholarship.
Her work aims to disarm prejudice. It pushes for a more unified and borderless world, founded on celebrating both our cultural differences and commonalities.
“De-Classified Files” is a video piece created for AW 21.
Due to covid 19 and new lockdown restrictions, Saskia has not been able to access her studio. Nevertheless Saskia wanted to take this as an opportunity to share her world with you.
In this film the public is guided through the research, the thought and development process of the brand. It is a road map to Saskia’s value system.
Once Classified Files are now De-Classified, in this way she offers insight into the private creative process.
To accompany this video piece, Saskia created a limited edition Risograph print. The print features one of her collages, called “Immunity Men”, turning her process into a more accessible and egalitarian piece of art.
Collaging is integral to the de-constructing and re-constructing design and make methods of the brand. 40 prints will be numbered and signed and available on brand's website. 50% of the proceedings will be donated to the Helen Bamber Foundation, a pioneering human rights charity.
