Teodora Mitrovska is a young emerging designer from North Macedonia, who studied and currently lives and works in London. She graduated from Middlesex University with a BA Fashion Design in 2018, and has since been working in different fields of the fashion industry. Having shown exceptional knowledge and skills, she is now working at Middlesex University across the Fashion Department as part of the academic team. She founded her brand T*MITROVSKA and is constantly working on its development and growth with three individual fashion shows and numerous interviews and press coverage in established magazines under her belt.
T*MITROVSKA is a young fashion brand that designs for the millennial queer child of McQueen’s woman. The designs use unconventional materials and gender-bending to tackle socio-political issues. The brand threads a fine line between highly-conceptual and streetwear and aims to cater to both markets.
20.18 aims to fight gender norms within fashion, featuring masculinized traditionally ‘female’ garments. The inspiration behind it is very personal and it is dedicated to Teodora’s grandfathers, who passed away in late 2018. While the collection echoes aspects of their lives, it shifts away from them as individuals by focusing only on two main elements: fishing and Yugoslavian military uniforms. In true fashion of the brand, the collection holds a dark undertone, aiming to create androgynous out-worldly warriors. While playing with ‘gendered’ garments and masculinity, it explores new textile techniques and unconventional materials.
