Graduating from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 2002, Sarah de Saint Hubert landed her first internship in Paris, working for Givenchy’s Haute Couture collections. From there she continued on to Italy, working for Alberta Ferretti. She moved on to Ann Demeulemeester for four years and, after a break, she worked at A.F. Vandevorst. In 2017, she began working on launching her own label.
To Sarah de Saint Hubert, fashion has always revolved around stories and souls. She defines garments as a medium, not as a purpose. The luxury of each piece is found when you get lost in its narrative and details. Her own story led her into founding her eponymous womenswear label in 2018. Knowledge, confidence and passion outlined the DNA, drawing its strength and inspiration from her personal heritage and emotions.
While consolidating her strong DNA - a collision of sports, couture, rock’n’roll and femininity - Sarah de Saint Hubert’s FW 2020/21 collection takes us where the sharp tailoring of smokings and coats cohabit with the edgy. Those who succeed not only because of their workmanship but also their narrative: a perspective of transmission, a way to harness historical details, yet relevant in the here and now. Boyish proportions and attitude are amplified by pieces of exquisite sensuality, an androgynous wardrobe, yet feminine, that stands for pure aesthetics.
