Graduated in Fashion Design by Modatex and with previous training in Interior and Exterior Design, Ari Paiva (1992) has his own creative universe and finds in Fashion the best way to express himself.
Since a young age, he likes to illustrate his perspective, from landscapes, people and his own imagery, almost abstract, as well as a feeling, shapes, colors and textures.
The collection emerged from an introspection of the relationship between the creator and the work. This SS22 collection is the result of experimentation/fusion of the work developed to date, almost an exhaustive exploration of the shapes developed in bust.
The shapes and the choice of colors were translated through the interest in the Surrealist: freedom, the subconscious unreal, reflection in a short gap of understanding of what it is possible to translate from the imaginary world to the real one, not being necessary to have a concrete logic or reason for there to be a justification.
With this it became the basis for the construction of the silhouettes of each coordinate, they have organic and at the same time structured forms that are also inspired by some works by the Expressionist artist Francis Bacon, making this contrast between organic and other almost brutalist aspects added on its own way of representation.
The concept of the video was to focus on the intimate proximity between the creator and his collection, taking the isolated aspect present in the surrealism paintings, with none involvement of others, or few elements or almost none during the recording period, giving a feeling of isolation, desolated from the outside world. The narrative tells the path of questioning and, in the end, finding the answers and liberation, leaving an open ending on what may happen in the future.
