The brand was started in June 2018, after the designer graduated from his Masters in Fashion at The Royal College of Art. His first collection was shown at the Sangue Novo - Young Designers Competition show during ModaLisboa, in October 2018. Since then, Archie Dickens has shown in ModaLisboa all following seasons - firstly the second stage of Sangue Novo, in March 2019, and then in October 2019 in the Workstation platform.
The SS21 collection brings you a socially distanced gathering of people, a dog and ideas for your home and garden to combine with the clothes. For this season, Archie Dickens is collaborating with friends in the spirit of coming together to create an own permaculture. The prints in the collection have been designed and made in collaboration with Frieda Peppercorn and the graphic artwork featured has been created by Zizi Ramires with a brief from Archie Dickens studio. Using circular shapes that converge and play with one another's space, they wanted to comment on the way in which we move around and inhabit our social spaces during a pandemic.
Following last season’s Deadstock collection, Archie Dickens continues to reuse and recycle as many of the materials used within the collection as possible, as well as making sure that everything the brand makes is as environmentally friendly as possible. All of the textile techniques employed in the production of this collection evoke craftsmanship and patience, these things take time and that is what Archie Dickens bring with SS21 - time.
