MODALISBOA'S CHECK POINT, in its second edition, celebrated once again the creativity, innovation and collaborative spirit from the national fashion industry.
In the perspective of sharing and advance in knowledge, we presented four very special masterclasses - in the areas of Sustainability, Fashion Communication and Tailoring - and also the Speakers Corner, where innovative projects and provocations for our Industry were revealed. We counted with the participation of GUC Agency, Manicómio, Unii Bio, Vicara e Les Filles.
The novelty of this edition was the live Atelier - "Bolha" - where several participants from multiple disciplines disciplinas (Rueffa, Hugo Van der Ding, Rita Loureiro, SLOW by Andreia Marques, Volume Atelier, Barbudo Aborrecido and Thomas Mendonça) were invited to customise a garment with the help of the grandmothers of the project ‘A avó veio trabalhar’.

Following the mission of ModaLisboa, the Bubble Live Atelier, highlights the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing among people from multidisciplinary territories with different visual and plastic approaches.
Not forgetting that it depends on all of us to evolve and create without harming the planet, we will use waste from the national textile industry and turn it into objects full of perspectives, visions and manifestations of our guest artists.
‘Grandma Came To Work’ brings the traditional know-how allied to the creative and collaborative exploration of the diverse guest talents.
Residents will be present at the Bubble Live Atelier, Friday and Saturday from 2 to 10pm.
The final pieces will be exhibited on Sunday 10 March, in the same space, to be appreciated by all visitors of ModaLisboa | Lisbon Fashion Week.
Session about the construction of the brand created by the Brazilian designer, focused on sustainability, natural dyes and working with several artisan cooperatives.
Masterclass focused on best practices / how to use social networks and marketing influencers to create attention. Jessica Michault is a recognized fashion journalist and Vice President of Industry Relations for Launchmetrics. She is a member of the BOF 500 and general editor of ODDA Magazine, a biennial fashion magazine.

The mission of the Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSD Portugal) is to support companies on their journey towards sustainability, as well as to promote public policies and raise society's awareness of sustainable development. In this masterclass will be explored how sustainability, along with digital transformation, is the 21st century trend that will most impact business.
Masterclass of Tailoring with practical component by the tailor Ayres Gonçalo.
Ayres Gonçalo grew up in a traditional family of tailors and soon showed interest in this craft. His grandfather, named Ayres Carneiro da Silva, owner of the establishment Ayres Alta Costura, was considered one of the best Portuguese tailors.
In 2010 Ayres Gonçalo was certified Savile Row Bespoke Tailor by the Savile Row Bespoke Association.

Through Speakers Corner, ModaLisboa gives the opportunity to present different national projects that are making a difference in urgent issues for our society such as technology, sustainability, preservation of know-how and health.
The Speakers Corner will be made in partnership with ECOOLHUNTER by ECO Newspaper, a new space on the homepage of the ECO newspaper.
